What's New, What's Next: Construction Updates at UTPB

A New Era for UTPB Begins July 28

The University of Texas Permian Basin will launch a major construction project starting Monday, July 28, 2025, to build a new campus quad and front entrance. This first phase will last 16-18 months and represents a significant investment in the future of our campus. 

What's Changing Starting July 28

  • JBS & Maple Avenue entrance CLOSED
  • Welcome Center and Library parking lots CLOSED
  • Entrance to the Welcome Center and west side of the Library CLOSED

If you need to access Admissions, Student Accounts, Financial Aid, Advising, Registrar, or Career Services, please:

  • Park in the Mesa Building lot facing 42nd Street
  • Walk through the building into the central courtyard
  • Follow posted signage to reach your destination

Campus Walking Trail Update

The walking trail near the Library and Welcome Center will be rerouted. Please follow posted detours and signs. These temporary paths maintain access across campus while prioritizing safety for all walkers and joggers.
