Computer Science Bachelor's Degree
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science
The ability to take real-world problems and incorporate a technology-based solution is highly sought after in the job market and at the core of the computer science degree. In this program, you’ll obtain a deep understanding of inner workings of computers, software, and the application of computer technology to real-world problems. Students can also earn a B.S. in Computer Science with Teacher Certification.

Degree Requirements
- The minimum total credits required for a B.S. in Computer Science is 120.
- All required and elective mathematics, computer science, and statistics courses must be completed with a grade of “C-” or better.
- All candidates for this degree must fulfill the basic education requirements and the mathematics requirements.
Computer Science Major Requirements
- The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science requires 48 upper level semester credit hours and 30 must be from UT Permian Basin.
- Students are also required to complete five advanced computer science courses. These courses will be determined in consultation with the Computer Science faculty.
