
Coaching Minor
If you're a natural born leader and have equal passion for sports and for helping others achieve their very best, coaching could be your calling. The coaching minor is bested suited for students majoring in a related field, but who plan to coach as a hobby or second job. This minor includes courses that have direct applicability to coaching. If coaching athletics is your primary professional goal, you are strongly encouraged to major in Kinesiology.
Coaching Minor Requirements
- Students are required to complete 22 semester credit hours.
- 15 semester credit hours must be upper-level courses.
- Physical activity and forms of movement courses, including those labeled KINE 1109-1134, KINE 1155-KINE 1159, KINE 1309, or KINE 1333 are encouraged, but do not count toward the 22 credit hour requirement.
To declare a Minor in Coaching, obtain advice, or seek approval of substitutions for course requirements, students should consult their academic advisor.
