J.C. Ausmus
Dr. J.C. Ausmus holds a joint role as the Assistant Dean of Student Wellness and as an Assistant Professor/Director of Clinical Training in the Department of Psychology. She earned her B.A. (cum laude) in Psychology and English from the University of Kentucky, an M.S. in Sport & Exercise Psychology, and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology (Clinical Mental Health Counseling track) from Ball State University. Dr. Ausmus holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision from Auburn University.
She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) in Georgia, a National Certified Counselor (NCC), a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC), and board-certified in telemental health (BC-TMH).
Dr. Ausmus was recognized as a 2022-2023 American College Counseling Association Emerging Leader for her research and applied work with college students. Her research focuses on the intersection of eating disorders, disordered eating, the psychological impact of social media, and student-athlete mental health. Her work has been published in journals such as Science of Gymnastics and Journal of Athlete Development and Experience.
