dennison.jpgDr. Alanna Dennison is the Academic Chair for the Department of Human Performance and the Athletic Training Program Director at UT Permian Basin. Originally hailing from Whitecourt, Alberta, Canada, Dr. Dennison began her career in athletic training at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. She earned her Master of Education from Central Methodist University in Fayette, MO while working as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, and then transitioned into a faculty role in athletic training education. Her passion for education and advancing the profession led her to the Doctor of Athletic Training program at A.T. Still University. Dr. Dennison is committed to innovative approaches to athletic training education and expanding employment opportunities in athletic training. Her research interests include retention of athletic trainers and athletic training students and academic success in athletic training. Dr. Dennison resides in Garden City, TX with her dogs, chickens, cats, and horses, enjoys competing in and providing athletic training coverage at rodeos, and trains barrel racing horses as a hobby.
