Sohan Gyawali received a Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) in 2020. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science, The University of Texas Permian Basin. His research interests include misbehavior detection, cybersecurity, cellular based vehicular communications, machine learning and intelligent transportation systems. He is a member of the IEEE and IEEE communications society.

  • Network security: network intelligence, privacy and lightweight encryption.
  • Cellular based vehicular communications: vehicular fog computing, edge computing and software defined networking.
  • Machine learning: supervised, semi-supervised, unsupervised learning, deep reinforcement learning, online learning.
  • Intrusion and misbehavior detection: machine learning and reputation-based detection.
