The J. Conrad Dunagan Library at UT Permian Basin is here to support your academic journey with a wide range of services and resources. Whether you need access to technology,k a quiet place to study, or assistance with research, we've got you covered.

Access Services

Our Access Services Desk is your first stop for all things library! Get help with general questions, check out or return materials, and access the following services:

  • Borrow library resources, including books, DVDs, and technology.
  • Pick up interlibrary loan items.
  • Reserve group study rooms and individual study carrels.
  • Explore our Course Reserves, where faculty can place essential materials for student access. Faculty may fill out the Reserve Request Form.

Technology Lending and Use

We make technology accessible to help you succeed!

  • Wi-Fi Access: Connect to campus Wi-Fi with ease using “eduroam” for students and “Guest” for visitors.
  • Laptops & Hotspots: Borrow laptops or hotspots for three days or an entire semester.
    (Complete the Library Equipment Lending User Agreement Form.)
  • Printing, Scanning, & Copying: Print wirelessly, scan to email or USB drives, or make copies using our user-friendly ScannX station.
  • ADA-Accessible Equipment: Access wheelchair-friendly stations, JAWS text-to-voice software, ZoomText, and more.

Study Rooms and Quiet Spaces

The library offers spaces for every study need:

  • Group Study Rooms: Available on the second floor, bookable for two hours with the option to renew if no one is waiting.
  • Quiet Study Area: The second floor is designated for quiet study only.
  • Collaborative First-Floor Spaces: Perfect for group discussions and team projects.
  • Graduate and Undergraduate Study Carrels: Reserve individual carrels for uninterrupted study. Graduate students can request semester-long access.

TexShare Program

As a TexShare partner, the library provides borrowing privileges to community members with TexShare cards. Benefits include:

  • Borrow up to 5 circulating books for 14 days, with two renewals.
  • Use public computers for internet access. (Please note: no printing is available for non-students.)
  • UTPB Distance Students: Apply for a TexShare card online.

Specialized Equipment and Services

  • Microfilm/Microfiche Viewing: Access rare materials using the ScanPro device on the second floor.
  • Public Computers: Two computers on the second floor are available for public use.
  • Accessibility Services: Includes a MagniSight station for visually impaired patrons.
