- UTPB President holds personal graduation ceremony for online student in Austin
It’s graduation season and one UTPB student is celebrating a major milestone in a very personal way.
UTPB President Dr. Sandra Woodley made a trip to Austin this week to host a one-of-a-kind graduation ceremony—just for one student.
"I feel accomplished," said Jeremy. "This is definitley a big milestone in my family, me graduating, so I am very thankful."
Jeremy Hannon, an Austin native, completed his Business Management degree entirely online through UTPB. While juggling a full-time job and running his own successful automotive business, Jeremy managed to take up to 18 credit hours each semester and he did it all with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
“Jeremy represents everything we hope for in our students: determination, hard work, and the courage to keep going no matter what,” said Dr. Woodley. “It was an honor to hand him his diploma and celebrate this achievement with him.”
Jeremy’s story is just one example of what’s possible through UTPB’s flexible and affordable programs offered both in-person and online.
Joining Dr. Woodley for the ceremony was Dr. Archie Holmes, Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs with the UT System.
It was a proud moment for Jeremy and for the entire UTPB community.
The University will hold its Spring 2025 Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 10 where more than 500 graduates will cross the stage and officially become Falcon alumni.
