“I know my role on the court is to take leadership and help my teammates,” she said.

Bersang fits that role perfectly – it’s her senior season. What you may not know, it’s also her first at UT Permian Basin.

“She tried three times and I was finally ready to make the move,” Bersang said.

Bersang spent the last three years playing for other universities around the country. She says Coach Boothe’s vision is what sold her to move to west Texas for her final season.

“She was so focused on winning – a winner’s mentality. That’s what caught my attention,” Bersang said. “It’s been a great journey. I’m sad it’s my last. It’s been a great time with the team.

Her time as a Falcon will end just as it’s beginning. That’s why she’s making the most of every single game.

“Value every single game, not because it’s my senior season, but because you’ll never know what will happen in the next practice,” Bersang said.

She’s working for a storybook season – one that doesn't’t end until March.

“Go hard and leave it out on the court,” Bersang said.
