The Falcon Summer Camps – Orchestra Camp 2021 is a project supported by the University of Texas Permian Basin Music Program. It will be held from June 8 to 11 in the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center. Students entering 7th to 9th grade will join the Falcon Strings Orchestra, and students entering 10th through graduating seniors will join the Falcon Symphony Orchestra.

Conducting Workshop and Conductors

Simultaneously with the Falcon String Orchestra, we will have an orchestral conducting workshop open to middle school teachers. The participants will work in different sessions and have open conversations about rehearsal techniques, conducting, repertoire, etc. Participants will be actively conducting rehearsals with repertoire of their choice, and they will have the opportunity to conduct the final concert with the Falcon Strings Orchestra.

Our Falcon Symphony Orchestra will have the honor of working with Mr. Beau Garza and with our UTPB faculty during rehearsals, sectionals, master classes and private lessons.

Speakers and Master classes

We will have different speakers talking about technique, musicality, college admission, etc. During the camp, our UTPB faculty will organize master classes with the students in the same section. The students are encouraged to bring solo repertoire for the master classes.

The Falcon Summer Camps will cover all lunches during the camp. The participants will be required to bring their own snacks and drinks during the day.
