The Department of Human Performance is home to two of our academic programs: Athletic Training and Exercise Science. The Athletic Training Program teaches an array of valuable skills for working with injuries and medical conditions such as prevention of injuries and illnesses, diagnosis and immediate care, and rehabilitation for return-to-play or work. Career options go well beyond sports fields. Your opportunities are vast as the athletic training career is quite versatile. The Exercise Science Program teaches the science of human movement. You will learn how the body works, how to help treat injuries, and how to use learned skills as medicine for your patients and customers.
Department of Human Performance students enjoy experiential learning in labs equipped specifically for simulated scenarios. This hands-on learning teaches skills related to exercise testing, performance assessment, and rehabilitation. Labs are designed to provide experiential learning opportunities for students before they move on to practicum experiences. This realistic training benefits as students transition to their careers.
- The Biomechanics Lab uses advanced technology to study and conduct research related to human movement.
- The Anatomage table allows students to digitally explore 3D renderings of anatomy, one layer at a time.
