Exercise Science Programs

Moving forward

Kinesiology is the science of human movement. Our students study the mechanics and mystery of the human body, including how injuries happen, how to treat them, and how to keep athletes healthy.

We are in an exciting new era for Kinesiology at The University of Texas Permian Basin. The department moved into a state-of-the-art facility in 2020. The D. Kirk Edwards Family Human Performance Center will give students access to cutting-edge professional-grade equipment including hot and cold hydrotherapy pools, and a biomechanics lab equipped with the latest tools to prepare students for a professional career.

What is Exercise Science?

Exercise Science is focused on how the human body moves, develops, and heals. You'll learn the skills necessary to work in clinical rehabilitation, sports science, and nutrition. Popular career fields include sports medicine, physical and occupational therapy, and other health professionals.
