What was it like to attend UTPB when you were a student?
"At first, it was a bit of a culture shock coming from central Texas to west Texas, but I immediately fell in love with the small campus community. It was easy to make friends with my classmates because we would take the same classes. I also felt connected to the community because of ballet folklorico and found my second family in my teammates."
What organizations/clubs/sports were you involved with as a student?
- Ballet Folklorico
- Resident Assistant
- Student Senate
What are/were your favorite campus traditions or events?
"Midnight breakfast—I went almost every semester. Although I never encountered her, I enjoyed hearing the story of Matilda the campus ghost at orientation. I also love attending UTPB football games and tailgating."
What advice would you give to current students or young alums?
"Say yes more often, get involved on campus, try something new. If UTPB offers an out-of-classroom experience, you should definitely take advantage of that. Also, talk to your professors; believe it or not, they want to see you succeed."
