The 2023 Permian Basin Water In Energy Conference is almost here! The conference will bring in more than 35 industry executives, experts, and regulators to promote the intelligent use, management, and beneficial reuse of water in oil and gas production. At the same time, the Conference will hand out thousands of dollars in student scholarships.
The mission of the Permian Basin Water In Energy Conference is to: share knowledge, facilitate collaboration, and spark innovation for the improved management, recycling, and beneficial reuse of water in oil and gas production. The Water In Energy Conference is not a commercial endeavor, but rather an intellectual program to contribute to the overall body of knowledge for the energy industry, our region, and our shared natural resources. The net proceeds from the Conference solely benefit UT Permian Basin through scholarships and leadership development for students – many of whom will join the energy workforce.
This year, the conference begins on Tuesday, February 28 with an on-campus evening Welcome Reception at the College of Engineering building. Then the two full days of Conference sessions will be held at the Midland County Horseshoe Arena on Wednesday, March 1 and Thursday, March 2.

The annual Water In Energy Conference includes a student research poster competition complete with scholarship prizes! This year we’ve doubled our scholarship awards, thanks to our generous sponsor Elevation Resources.
