“It’s not just about receiving a scholarship. It’s about being recognized for the potential to make a difference."
For Shraddha Parajuli, nursing is more than a career – it's a calling. A native of Nepal, Parajuli’s journey has taken her from the towering Himalayas to the heart of West Texas, where she is pursuing her nursing degree at The University of Texas Permian Basin. Her hard work and dedication earned her an Impact Healthcare Scholarship, providing the support she needs to focus on her studies and her future in healthcare.

From the very beginning, the admissions team made the process feel welcoming and personal, guiding me every step of the way.”

The Impact Healthcare Scholarship is awarded to students who show promise in making a difference in the healthcare field. For Parajuli, this recognition is both an honor and a responsibility.

“Being an Impact Healthcare Scholar is a privilege that fills me with immense gratitude,” she said. “It’s not just about receiving a scholarship. It’s about being recognized for the potential to make a difference. My goal is to stay in this area and serve the people of west Texas, ensuring that I can give back in a way that truly makes an impact.”

Parajuli credits UTPB with shaping her both personally and professionally. With the financial burden eased by the scholarship, she is able to focus on her education and career goals.

“With this scholarship, I no longer have to carry the weight of financial worries, allowing me to dedicate myself fully to my studies and my future career,” she said.

Looking ahead, Parajuli plans to gain hands-on experience in the field before pursuing a master’s degree. She sees healthcare as a lifelong commitment- one that requires continuous learning and growth.

“UTPB has played a crucial role in shaping my path, and for that, I will always be grateful,” she said.

Through the support of UTPB and the Impact Healthcare Scholarship, Parajuli is one step closer to making a meaningful difference in the healthcare community - in West Texas and beyond.
