Studying engineering and looking for ways to get involved on campus, connect with fellow engineers, and gain access to tools for your future career? Good news! The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is back at The University of Texas Permian Basin.
UTPB is welcoming SWE back to campus this semester in an effort spearheaded by Professor Santoshi Pedapati. The Society of Women Engineers is a nationally recognized organization dedicated to empowering women to achieve their full potential as engineers and leaders; a mission that closely aligns with UTPB’s commitment of preparing Falcons for success in their careers and communities.
Professor Pedapati says she hopes the organization will “provide our female students with a dedicated space to explore their fields, gain hands-on experience, and build a supportive community.” By creating opportunities for mentorship, professional development, and collaboration, SWE will help students build the confidence and skills needed to thrive in the engineering field.
On campus, SWE plans to host workshops, networking events, and professional development opportunities while building a community of like-minded peers. As an affiliate of the national SWE organization, members will also have access to scholarships, conferences, and career resources; opening doors for Falcons to connect with industry leaders and take the next step toward successful engineering careers.
