For some, choosing a career is about pursuing a passion. For others, it's about serving a purpose. Vivian Galindo knew she wanted to become a teacher and make a difference in the lives of future generations.

“I want to be a teacher because I believe education has the power to change lives,” Vivian said. “I want to be the teacher who encourages students to believe in themselves, supports them through challenges, and celebrates their success.”

Vivian now has the opportunity to do that thanks to The University of Texas Permian Basin.

Through every lesson, observation, challenge, and success, I have gained the confidence and skills needed to lead my own classroom and make a difference in the lives of students.”

She graduated from UTPB in Spring 2026 and will soon step into her own classroom. While starting any new job can be intimidating, Vivian knows she is prepared because of the support and guidance she received as a Falcon.

“Marsha Bridges, my site coordinator, was always encouraging, supportive, and willing to help whenever I needed guidance. Her feedback and belief in me helped me continue growing as an educator,” Vivian said. “I am also deeply grateful for Mr. Navarrete, who opened his classroom to me and mentored me throughout my residency year.”

Vivian is committed to creating a classroom environment where every student feels valued, respected, and capable of achieving their goals. She hopes to instill a love of learning that stays with her students long after they leave her classroom.

Today, Vivian is ready to make an impact. If you're called to do the same, UTPB can help you turn that passion into a profession. Learn more about becoming a teacher and start shaping the next generation.
