TEAS

The TEAS exam is a four-hour, computer-administered exam required for application to UT Permian Basin’s BSN programs. 

There are four exam sections: Reading, Math, Science, and English and Language usage. 

UTPB’s BSN program requires 75% or higher on Reading, Math, and Science sections of the TEAS. Science scores will be considered by the Admissions Committee. 

The TEAS exam can be taken 2 times per application period. Applicants must wait a minimum of 30 days between attempts. If the TEAS exam is re-taken, all sections will have to be completed again. Submitted scores must cumulatively be from the same test administration. 

Passing scores are valid for 2 years. 

Test results must reach the School of Nursing office by the application deadline for the student to be considered for admission. Please request that ATI send them to “U of TX Permian Basin – BSN.” 

TEAS Registration for In-Person Testing

1. Create an Account with ATI
   1. For instructions to set up an ATI account, visit this How-To Document. The ATI (TEAS) platform will allow students to purchase exams, manage personal information prior to taking the exam, search for test centers, select score recipient institution(s), and purchase study materials. 
   2. If you wish to purchase study material from the test company, please visit http://www.atitesting.com/ati_store/. Once you set up your ATI account, make sure to note your username and password for the TEAS account. This information is required to take your TEAS exam. 
2. Register for Exam on ATI and RegisterBlast
   1. For instructions on how to register for TEAS exam on ATI, please visit: https://help.atitesting.com/how-to-register-for-an-in-person-teas-exam-at-an-institution-or-testing-center.
   2. After registering and paying for your exam on ATI, visit RegisterBlast at www.registerblast.com/utpb to schedule your TEAS test in the UT Permian Basin Testing Center. There is a $11.50 proctor fee for this exam you must pay to reserve your seat. If you do not register for your exam on RegisterBlast, the Testing Center will not pay the fee to reschedule or re-register for your exam. 
3. On Test Day - At UTPB Testing Center
   1. You must bring the following to take your exam: 
      1. Valid, government issued ID. 
      2. ATI username and password – please verify that it is correct before coming in to take your test; if your current information is not up to date, you will have to update it before your test can be started.
