TSI Student Requirements

The TSI Assessment/ Aciculae is a program designed by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to help institutions determine if you are ready for college-level course work in the general areas of reading, writing and mathematics.
If you are an incoming college student in Texas, you are required to take the TSI Assessment - unless you are already exempt (contact high school counselor).

Less than 340 on multiple choice and an ABE Diagnostic level of at least a 4 and an essay score of at least 5

(R/W for all non-math courses; M for all math courses)

Counselors must submit all required documentation below before applications are processed:

  1. TSI (or exemption) scores
  2. High school transcript
  3. College/University transcript if applicable
