Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Criminology Degree Program

Criminology is the study of crime and criminal behavior. Because crime is a core societal issue, criminologists examine society’s response to crime and the role of the state in crime prevention and enforcement.

Degree Requirements

  • The B.A. in Criminology requires a minimum of 120 total credits.
  • All required and elective courses must be completed with a grade of “C-” or better.
  • All candidates for this degree must fulfill the basic education requirements and the criminology requirements.

Criminology Major Requirements

  • The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Criminology requires 33 semester credit hours, with a max of 54 semester credit hours.
  • Students are required to complete at least 18 semester credit hours in a minor. 12 of those 18 credits must be upper level courses.
