Certification Coursework

Falcon Fast Track participants complete five courses during their preparation, as well as an internship or clinical teaching. Courses are online and are 8 weeks in length. Coursework is designed and taught by experienced educators, and is focused on building the knowledge and skills that will promote success in the classroom and on the Texas PPR exam.

Upon admission to the program, your Fast Track academic advisor will prepare a certification plan appropriate to your certification field. The advisor will provide ongoing personalized support throughout the program.

Costs

Tuition and fees for Falcon Fast Track total $1,855. Tuition is paid per course, as you go.

Typical additional costs include:

  • Course materials - $200 to $325, depending on certification area
  • TExES certification exam fee - $116 per exam
  • TEA fingerprinting fee - $50
  • TEA certification fee - $78 per certificate
  • Certification processing fee - $10 per certificate

Applying Certification Coursework Toward a Master’s Degree

For those who wish to obtain teacher certification, and to also pursue a Master’s degree, up to 15 credit hours may potentially be applied toward a Master’s degree in Professional Education, Literacy, Bilingual/ESL Education, or Special Education, reducing the time and cost of obtaining an advanced degree. The specific courses that may apply, will depend on the degree program.

**Any Master’s degree can be pursued, but it is likely the alternative certification credits may not be accepted as elective credits for a degree in another field.
