How to Apply for Falcon Fast Track

Application Process

Applications are screened on a rolling basis throughout the year. Once your application, transcripts, essay, and PACT score report have been submitted, they will be screened for eligibility requirements. If you meet the requirements, you will receive an offer of acceptance via email. To accept the offer, you will be required to send us a reply email with your confirmation.

There is a $40 application fee.

Request official transcripts from each college or university you attended (even if you transferred before graduating) be sent to Office of Graduate Studies, UT Permian Basin, 4901 E University Blvd, Odessa TX 79762, or to gradstudies@utpb.edu. Current or former UTPB students do not need to request a UTPB transcript.

Send your essay to gradstudies@utpb.edu and epp@utpb.edu. The essay of 1-2 pages should address why you want to be a teacher and the characteristics and experiences that make you a good candidate for the Falcon Fast Track program.

Send your PACT score report to epp@utpb.edu.

Notice Regarding Criminal Background Check

Please be aware that: Pursuant to Texas Education Code, candidates must undergo a criminal history background check before clinical teaching and before employment as an educator. Any negative legal history, as defined by State Board for Educator Certification, may jeopardize your ability to obtain a certificate and to teach or be employed as an educator. You may request a preliminary criminal history evaluation by the Texas Education Agency if you believe you may be ineligible for educator certification due to a conviction or deferred adjudication for a felony or misdemeanor offense. There is currently a $55 fee for this optional service.
