At UT Permian Basin, the broad-based curriculum of the B.S. in Biology will have you immersed in the molecular worlds of genetics, physiology, cell biology, chemistry and physics. Degree Requirements

  • The B.S. in Biology requires a minimum of 120 total credits.
  • All required and elective courses must be completed with a grade of “C-” or better.

Biology Major Requirements

  • Students are required to complete 36 semester credit hours in Biology – 24 of those credits must be upper-level courses.
  • There are degree specific lower and upper level courses Biology majors must take that include: Calculus, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, Computers and Problem Solving and History and Philosophy of Science.
  • Students must also complete 20-21 semester credit hours in a minor.
