Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Healthcare Management

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Healthcare Management program prepares graduates to solve problems in one of the nation's fastest growing economic sectors.  Health services is a rapidly changing field with new treatments, new technologies, and changing demographics. Future healthcare managers need an understanding of the dynamics and capabilities of healthcare providers. Healthcare managers work with clinical and other professionals in hospitals, clinics, and community agencies to improve patient care.    

UTPB’s faculty works to give every graduate a solid foundation in business theory, research, and application used in a wide variety of health services. This prepares students for careers in management including administrators, executives, consultants, or entrepreneurs. At all levels and healthcare managers solve problems to improve health outcomes.

Degree Requirements

  • The minimum total semester credit hours required for a BBA in Management is 120.
  • Students are required to complete MATH 1314 and MATH 1325 or MATH 2412 and MATH 2413.
  • Students are required to complete SOCI 1301 or PSYC 1301.
  • All required and elective courses must be completed with a grade of “C-“ or better.

BBA in Healthcare Management Requirements

  • Students must complete 18 semester credit hours of lower-level business courses.
  • Students are required to complete 24 semester credit hours of upper-level business common core courses.
  • Students are required to complete MNGT 3312-Human Resources Management, MNGT 4337: Quality Improvement in Health Care or MNGT 4380-Total Quality Management, and a course in international business.
  • Students complete a 15 credit core in healthcare business courses followed by electives in healthcare business topics or related healthcare disciplines.
