The Biochemistry Track at UT Permian Basin is great for students interested in the chemistry of living things. This program gets students ready for advanced studies in health fields like medicine, dentistry, or pharmacy. It also gets them ready for graduate research in biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, forensic science, and toxicology.
Degree Requirements
- A minimum of 120 total credit hours is required for the degree.
- 64 credit hours must be completed in chemistry and biology courses.
- All math, computer science, and statistics courses must be passed with a grade of C- or better.
- Students must complete Basic Education and chemistry core requirements.
- No minor is required for this degree.
- Pre-calculus may count toward total credits if needed for college readiness.
- An upper-level elective supports pre-med and graduate school preparation with additional biology coursework.
