This program is designed for students interested in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning, combining strong computer science fundamentals with hands-on, application-focused learning.
Students develop skills in AI-based problem solving, decision making, and computational thinking—preparing them to create innovative solutions across industries. With access to advanced computing resources and high-performance systems through the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC), graduates are equipped to succeed in a rapidly evolving, data-driven world.

Degree Requirements
- A minimum of 120 total credit hours is required for graduation.
- Includes 42 credit hours of General Education Core coursework.
- 46 credit hours of major core courses in computer science.
- 12 credit hours of AI Track electives, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, and a technical elective.
- 17 credit hours of mathematics, including Calculus, Mathematical Reasoning, Statistics, and Probability Theory.
- Completion of a capstone course focused on the history and philosophy of science.
Students in the AI Track must complete the following courses:
- COSC 4355 – Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
- COSC 4360 – Introduction to Machine Learning
- COSC 4365 – Introduction to Deep Learning
