Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English
UT Permian Basin students working towards a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English will graduate with an in-depth knowledge of British and American literature. You will focus on poetry, fiction, and drama, often with an emphasis on the interdisciplinary study of literature and on the structure and complexity of the English language. Our mission is the development of respectful critical thinking skills, understanding, and empathy for global perspectives.

Degree Requirements
- The minimum total credits required for a B.A. in English is 120.
- At least 30 semester credit hours must be taken at UT Permian Basin.
- All required and elective courses must be completed with a grade of "C" or better and a GPA of 2.0 or better.
Bachelor of Arts in English Requirements

Students must complete 30 hours, with a minimum of 6 hours senior-level and a maximum of 6 hours sophomore-level.

Students are required to complete 18 semester credit hours towards a minor.

English majors are required to take ENGL 3300 and at least one course in British Literature, American Literature, Drama, Fiction, Poetry, Language/Rhetoric.
