
Minor in Art History
The Art History Minor complements and enhances many disciplines by providing knowledge about world arts and culture across continents and civilizations. Many students who major in History find their history courses are bolstered by Art History curriculum. The Art History Minor can be completed by taking face-face, online, or a combination of both courses.
Art History Minor Requirements
Students are required to complete the following 6 semester credit hours of lower-level courses:
ARTS 1303 Art History Survey I
ARTS 1304 Art History Survey II
Students are required to complete 6 semester credit hours of Art History courses dated before the 20th Century. Choose from the following:
ARTS 3301 Women Artists I
ARTS 3303 American Art History I
ARTS 4304 History of 19th Century Art
ARTS 4305 History of Renaissance Art
Students are required to choose from the following Art History courses dated after the 20th Century for 6 semester credit hours:
ARTS 3302 Women Artists II
ARTS 3305 Modern Hispanic Art and Its Foundation
ARTS 4300 Concepts in Modern Art
ARTS 4301 Art since 1940
