Bachelor of Science (BS) in Geology - Petroleum Geology Concentration
Degree Requirements
- The minimum total credits for a B.S. in Geology—Petroleum Plans is 120.
- All required and elective courses must be completed with a grade of "C-" or better.
- All candidates must fulfill the Core Curriculum, Support Science, and Geology Major requirements.
Geology Major Requirements
- The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Geology—Petroleum Geology Concentration requires 51 upper level semester credit hours, at least 24 of them must be from UT Permian Basin.
- Students are required to take a GEOL 4600 Summer Field Geology Course.
- No minor is required for students pursuing the BS Geology Petroleum Geology Concentration
Petroleum Geology Concentration Requirements
- To earn the Petroleum Geology Concentration students must take 17 semester credit hours of selected geology elective courses.
- Refer to the undergraduate course catalog for a full list of geology electives that may be used to satisfy the Petroleum Geology Concentration.
