Homecoming: a yearly, week-long tradition for schools to showcase their pride and partake in spirited events.
UT Permian Basin is no stranger to hosting events for its students and community. But like fine wine, UTPB Homecoming gets better with time.

Former Falcon alums can recount the days of Homecoming nominee campaigning and court banquets, pep-rallies held in the ‘Falcon Dome.’ (UTPB gym).

In previous years, UTPB notably held its homecoming events during basketball season. Homecoming activities included spirit competitions, tailgating parties, and pep rallies. The week-long events concluded with the coronation of the homecoming king and queen at halftime of the men’s basketball game.

UTPB soon braced for history-making changes.

With the addition of our football team, UTPB introduced its first-ever fall homecoming in 2016.

This inaugural fall homecoming events included a campus carnival, pep rally bonfire, tailgating, and of course the first ever football game.

In past years, UTPB organized spirit competitions among other students, such as the “Falcon Olympics”, “Falcon Showdown,” and “The Falcon Games.” Teams would compete against each other for prizes and bragging rights and friendly competition.

UTPB Student Life invites performers to our campus such as singers, magicians, and comedians.

Other homecoming favorites include:
  • Homecoming parade
  • UTPB spirit and group performances
  • Creating and decorating keepsake items
  • Lip sync battles
  • Recreational sporting games
  • Ice skating
  • Casino/game night
  • Movie showing
  • And of course, the free food!
From pep rallies, to performances, to competitions, UTPB homecoming becomes bigger and better every year; unveiling new activities as well as honoring old ones.

Be sure to take part in this year’s homecoming experience!
