Dr. Anderson feels honored by being able to represent UT Permian Basin at conferences.

Dr. Cynthia Anderson, Assistant Professor of Counseling in the College of Education, recently participated as a keynote speaker at the Oklahoma Counseling Association.

Dr. Anderson has presented at multiple conferences including the American Counseling Association National Conference (ACA) where she was recognized in Toronto, Canada and then extended an invitation to be a keynote speaker for the Oklahoma Counseling Association.

“These have all been exciting opportunities where I have been able to contribute to the field of counseling and play therapy toward the greater good.”

Dr. Anderson encourages students to attend UTPB and specifically to earn their MA in Counseling because of the support they will receive.

“I highly recommend the Counseling Department at UTPB because of the exemplary experience, preparation, and knowledge that students will receive with us. We have a 100% placement rate because of how well trained our graduates are to begin as professionals in an area where the needs are so great.”

Her knowledge and expertise have brought Dr. Anderson great opportunities that she will also be presenting at the Texas Association for Play Therapy in Arlington, Tx next year.

At UT Permian Basin, the College of Education offers a Master of Arts in Counseling and recently announced a Play Therapy Certificate that will be offered for the Fall 2023 semester.

Our Counseling program will help you gain multiple skills including the competencies necessary to conduct research and use assessment to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive developmental guidance program.
