Faces of UTPB: UTPB Pool
When the West Texas heat hits, what better place to cool off than The University of Texas Permian Basin outdoor swimming pool!
Constructed in the late 1970s, the pool was originally used just for recreation. The pool became the home of the UT Permian Basin women’s and men’s swimming and diving team in 2004 and has continued to be a nice spot for the Permian Basin community to cool off and hang out when the summer weather hits the Basin.
The pool is open Monday through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
There is a $5 entrance fee for community members. Cash is not accepted, but they can pay online. https://www.utpb.edu/life-at-utpb/campus-recreation/swimming-pool
If you have further questions about the pool, please reach out to Matthew Cottrell (Asst Dean, Student Activities) at cottrell_m@utpb.edu.
