More high school seniors across the Permian Basin now have a guaranteed path to college. UTPB has expanded its Direct Admissions program, offering automatic admission to 2,198 students for Fall 2026.

The University of Texas Permian Basin is expanding its Direct Admissions program for high school seniors entering college in Fall 2026. This year, the University has offered automatic admission to 2,198 seniors across seven partner school districts, a notable increase from last year’s 1,680 offers. This growth reflects new partnerships and stronger collaboration with districts throughout the region.

For Fall 2026, UTPB is proud to be partnering with: Ector County ISD, Midland ISD, McCamey ISD,
Andrews ISD, Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD, Alpine ISD, and Crane ISD.

Through Direct Admissions, qualified seniors receive a guaranteed acceptance to UT Permian Basin
eliminating the need for an Apply Texas or Common App application. To confirm their spot students just need complete three simple steps:

  1. Submit a quick and easy confirmation of your direct admissions offer online
  2. Provide an official transcript to UTPB's Office of Admissions
  3. Check their inbox for a New Student Orientation sign-up link

The Direct Admissions program is designed to reduce barriers, simplify the college-going process, and provide a clear pathway for students to pursue higher education. Of the students who accepted their Direct Admission for Fall 2025, the average GPA was an impressive 3.36.
