Falcons showed up in a big way. This year’s Giving Day delivered record-breaking support for students, programs, and the future of our region.

The University of Texas Permian Basin is proud to announce a record-breaking Falcon Giving Day, raising a total of $317,044 and surpassing its fundraising goal by 27%. The 24-hour campaign, held February 12–13, supports students, academic programs, athletics, and campus initiatives that strengthen the University and the region it serves.

Donors were able to direct their gifts to the areas that matter most to them, including scholarships, academics, athletics, and student resources.

“We’re always so humbled to see the support this community has for UTPB,” said Jacqui Gore, Vice President for External Relations. “Our supporters recognize the impact the University has on workforce development, the economy, and West Texas pride. To everyone who contributed, thank you.”

With only 35% of University funding coming from the state and no state support designated for athletics or scholarships, UTPB relies on donor generosity to expand opportunities for students. A significant portion of Falcon Giving Day contributions directly supports students pursuing their educational goals. With more than 90% of UTPB students eligible for scholarship assistance, these funds help reduce financial barriers and promote student success.

These contributions directly support scholarships, academic programs, and student experiences that help our students graduate and lead in their fields.”

  • UTPB Food Pantry
  • Student Emergency Fund
  • General Scholarship Fund
  • Accounting, Art, Business, Athletics, History, and Nursing scholarships
  • Athletics programs
  • UTPB Enhancement Fund

Major contributions included a $100,000 gift from ExxonMobil to fund the Geoscience Laboratory Renovation, a $25,000 anonymous matching contribution, two significant anonymous gifts for the Champions Fund, and gifts from UTPB alumni and community supporters. The University extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated and helped make this year’s campaign a success.
