What We Do
Simply put, we help you succeed at UTPB. By offering a range of academic support, we’re able to tailor our help to meet your personal needs. Whether it’s tutoring for a particular class, peer mentoring for incoming freshmen, or participation in special programs like AVID, Chemistry Peer-Led Team Learning Workshops, or an Online Writing Lab, there’s a service that will work for you.

Monday - Thursday: 8:00 am - 9:00 pm
Friday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Tutoring
Tutoring for reading, writing, arithmetic—and everything else—is available at the SSC.
Peer Mentoring
Incoming freshmen can be paired with a peer mentor who will help you navigate your first year on campus.
AVID
Standing for “Advancement Via Individual Determination,” AVID is a cornerstone of UTPB student success. Learn more about this unique approach.
SSC Computer Lab
Come take advantage of the state-of-the-art computers available at the Student Success Center.
Supplemental Instruction
Supplemental Instruction targets difficult academic subjects with regular, peer-facilitated study sessions.
