The Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) is a free application. It collects information to help decide if people can get state and college financial aid in Texas.Prepare for the TASFA
- Online - Did you fill out a TASFA form before? Log in to your UMP account using your personal email address and password and verify information is up to date.
- Online - Didn't submit a TASFA form before? Create a UMP account, you will need to provide your personal email address, full name and a password. Make sure you have access to your email during this time, as a one-time pin will be emailed to your for verification purposes. Your parent will need a valid email address that is different than yours to review and acknowledge the information entered on the TASFA.
- Paper - A paper copy of the TASFA is available on the TASFA homepage that you can print if you cannot complete it online.

| 1. Submit your application to UT Permian Basin | You must be admitted to UT Permian Basin and registered for classes to receive funds. Submit your affidavit to the Admissions Office and ensure your official high school transcript has been received. |
| 2. Complete and submit the TASFA | Make sure it is for the correct year and semester(s) you plan to attend. The TASFA is used to award aid for the fall, spring, and summer semesters of each academic year. |
| 3. Monitor your student email for updates and award notifications | When your TASFA has been processed, you will receive an email from the verification officer. Review it carefully, as it may include requests for corrections or additional documents. Once processing is complete, you will receive your award notification. |
| 4. Ensure you are enrolled in the required hours for your award | Refer to the eligibility and enrollment page for more information. |

- 2026-2027 School Year (Fall 26, Spring 27, & Summer 27) - TAFSA can be submitted 10/1/2025 - 06/30/2027. Tax year 2024
