FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid

Your biggest source of financial aid is the FAFSA, and it's completely secure and free to fill out. You'll need a federal school code or choose which school your application should go to.

Prepare for the FAFSA

• Did you fill out a FAFSA form in the past? Log in to your StudentAid.gov account and be sure your current email address is on file.
• Is this your first time completing a FAFSA? Create an FSA ID on the Federal Student Aid website and assist contributors, such as your parent(s) or spouse, in creating an FSA ID.

Applying for FAFSA

1. Submit your application to UT Permian Basin
   You must be admitted to UT Permian Basin and registered for classes to receive funds.
2. Complete the FAFSA
   Make sure it is for the correct year and semester(s) you plan to attend. The FAFSA is used to award aid for the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Include UT Permian Basin’s school code: 009930.
3. Keep an eye out for your FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS)
   When your FAFSA is processed, you will receive your FSS by email or mail. Review it carefully for corrections or additional required documents.
4. Determine if you need a Special Circumstance Form
   If your situation has changed since filing the FAFSA, you may submit a Request for Special Circumstances. Visit the forms library.
