Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay educational expenses.

  • Complete the application and submit to finaid@utpb.edu or in person at MB 1225
  • Monitor your student email for updates and next step

On campus positions are available in different departments around the university. If you work off campus, your employer will be on of our partner nonprofit organizations.

How will I be paid?

Unlike other types of financial aid, work-study earnings are not applied directly to your student bill. Students receive a paycheck via mail or direct deposit, based on hours worked, just like a a normal job. 

 

Can I work as many hours as I want? 

No. the amount you earn can't exceed your total Federal Work-Study award.

  • When assigning work hours, your employer will consider your class schedule.
  • Students can work a maximum of 19.5 hours per week.
