- New Healthcare Management Certificate Offered
The University of Texas Permian Basin is offering a new certificate in Healthcare Management starting in Fall, 2017. The certificate will offer students earning a bachelor of business administration (BBA) or those who already have the degree to learn about the unique issues, challenges, and management tools used by health services organizations such as hospitals, medical practices, wellness centers, and public health units.

The U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that employment of medical and health services managers is projected to grow 17 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations. As the large baby-boom population ages and people remain active later in life, the healthcare industry as a whole will see an increase in the demand for medical services. “This new certificate helps UTPB business students prepare for careers in one of the fastest growing industries in the country,” said Dr. William Price, dean of the College of Business.
