UT Permian Basin alumni Kimberly Baiza is a Falcon Success story! She recently received the Daisy Award from Medical Center Hospital for her outstanding work in patient care. The Odessa American featured Kimberly, highlighting her success in the medical field. As a nurse in the post-partum unit, she uses her training to help mothers through one of the most important times in their life: bring a new baby into the world!
Kimberly has been with Medical Center Health System for two years. As a student at UT Permian Basin, the nursing faculty described her as very determined and persistent. She completed her nursing degree in December 2016.
According to the Odessa American, the patient who nominated Kimberly for the Daisy Award was very thankful for the care she received, saying that Baiza was thorough and compassionate, and went above and beyond. The patient stated that Baiza “explained everything and was a great teacher, not only to
