- Growing the Athletic Department - Reinke's Ready
One of the goals put forth by UT Permian Basin President Dr. Sandra Woodley is to grow the Athletic Department.
Reality is, the University cannot do that without the support of our community. That’s why the Athletic Department has brought on one of the best in the business to develop those relationships: Leticia Reinke.
She is always on the move, ready to greet you with a smile and a bit of encouragement. For her, the University is more than just a place of work.
“I worked for the President and Continuing Education. My husband is the baseball coach. My kids attend the STEM academy here. It’s like coming back home,” Reinke said.
Today Reinke is the Director of Athletic Development and she has one goal: “Let’s think big. Let’s be big. Let’s grow big. We’re Falcons! That’s exciting,” Reinke said.
She is one of the driving forces of growing the number of sponsorships and investments in all 12 sports teams.
“The Permian Basin is growing and so many people want to be a partner with the University and athletics. Now we have a process in place where they can really do that,” Reinke said.
From making sure teams have ice to securing large endowment funds, Reinke calls it a labor of love.
“I know that some of the things, as little as they may be, I know it has a direct impact in who our student-athletes will become,” she said.
