We are thrilled to highlight Jayden Gray, a proud University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB) alumnus, in our F.A.N. Friday Alumni series. Jayden graduated in December 2023 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and currently excels as an Engineering Technical Sales professional. His journey is a testament to the power of hard work, dedication, and the supportive community at UTPB.
A Rich Academic Experience at UTPB
Jayden’s time at UTPB was marked by relentless studying and strong camaraderie. The engineering building became his second home, where he spent countless hours in study rooms and computer labs. The personalized attention from professors played a crucial role in his success. Their commitment to knowing each student personally and ensuring they achieved their best left a lasting impression on Jayden.
Jayden was deeply involved in several key organizations on campus. As an active member and officer in the Society of Petroleum Engineers, American Association of Drilling Engineers, and the American Rock Mechanics Association, he seized numerous opportunities to expand his knowledge and network. These organizations were pivotal in shaping his career, allowing him to connect with influential professionals and peers.
Jayden’s advice to current students and young alumni is simple yet profound: build your network. He encourages reaching out to professionals in your field and related industries. This proactive approach to networking, according to Jayden, is invaluable for learning beyond the classroom and fostering personal and professional growth.
Jayden fondly recalls attending Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at the freshman dorm cafeteria. These events were more than just meals; they were moments of joy and connection with fellow students. Football games and tailgating were also highlights of his UTPB experience, providing a vibrant and exciting atmosphere on campus.
Even after graduation, Jayden remains committed to UTPB by actively working to grow the alumni network. His dedication to staying connected and giving back to the community exemplifies the Falcon spirit.
Jayden Gray's journey from a dedicated student to a successful professional and engaged alumnus is an inspiration to all. His story underscores the importance of hard work, active participation in campus life, and the enduring value of connections made during college. We are proud to have Jayden as a part of the UTPB family and look forward to his continued contributions to our community.
