Samuel Mota, a proud 2024 graduate of UTPB, earned dual bachelor's degrees in chemistry and biology.
His journey at UTPB was marked by a wealth of opportunities that he eagerly embraced. Despite UTPB being a smaller school, Samuel found that this allowed him to take full advantage of the available resources and experiences, including extensive travel for academic purposes.
Campus Involvement
During his time at UTPB, Samuel was deeply involved in various organizations and clubs. He played an active role as a member and officer of the chemistry club, which quickly became a cornerstone of his college experience. Additionally, he served as a peer leader and worked at the success center, providing support and guidance to fellow students. Samuel was also a member of the newly formed UTEACH club, demonstrating his commitment to both learning and teaching.
Favorite Memories
One of Samuel's fondest memories from UTPB involves the exciting events hosted by the chemistry club. He particularly enjoyed making nitrogen ice cream and showcasing the impressive 'jet fuel' experiment, which never failed to captivate and inspire his peers.
Advice for Current Students & Young Alums
Now a teacher for ECISD at OHS, Samuel continues to impart his passion for science and education to his students. He encourages current students and young alumni to build strong relationships with their professors, as these connections can open numerous doors and provide invaluable support throughout their academic and professional journeys.
