One Falcon is getting the chance to showcase his work on a public stage before even graduating.
Elijah Givens is graduating this semester with his Bachelor of Fine Arts. He is an artist who works with Conté crayons, acrylic on canvas, and creates digital designs that he transforms into full-color prints. His time at The University of Texas Permian Basin has expanded his skills.

UTPB has not only broadened his artistic abilities but also helped prepare him for his future.
Elijah hopes to become a full-time artist, creating work for clients and showcasing pieces in exhibitions. He is getting an early start after Mario Kiran, Professor of Art and Chair of the Department of the Arts, secured him a gallery showing at the Ellen Noël Art Museum.
“It’s my very first exhibition,” Elijah said. “It’s given me the confidence to show more artwork on a public stage.”
His exhibition, Surface Tension, is on display at the Ellen Noël Art Museum from April 9 to April 26. His work is inspired by what he sees in his daily life.
“I am inspired by the environment,” Elijah said.
He is grateful for the opportunity to share his work on a larger stage and looks forward to continuing to pursue his dreams.
