Graduate Scholarships

• Recipient(s) must be accepted unconditionally to graduate school at the University
• Recipient(s) must be pursuing a graduate degree in Biology
• If no graduate student qualifies, the recipient(s) may be undergraduate student(s) who are working on research directed by a Department Faculty member
• Recipient(s) must be recommended by a committee of tenured and tenured-track faculty from the Biology Department

• Must be either an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in a Pre-Health Professions program at UTPB
• Must be from Ector County 
• Must be from a financially disadvantaged background and provide an essay upon application explaining their need for the scholarship to the financial aid director
• Must maintain a 3.25 GPA to continue to receive the scholarship

• Must be a graduate research student at UTPB
• Must be completing research in Biological Studies
• Must be a student of financial need
• Must be recommended by the Members of the Graduate Faculty of Biology based on student potential

• Recent graduate of UTPB - within 5 academic years
• Undergraduate GPA of 3.4 or higher
• Required to take at least 2 courses each full semester on UTPB campus 
• Not available to graduate students with a Graduate Assistantship **$1,000 awards per student per academic year, paid as $500 per semester based on continuing eligibility; unused funds roll over to next year

• Recent graduate of UTPB - within 5 academic years
• Undergraduate GPA of 3.4 or higher
• Required to take at least 2 courses each full semester on UTPB campus

• Must be a student majoring in business
• Must be an upper-level undergraduate junior or senior, or graduate student
• Must maintain a GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale

• Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA

• Must be full-time student enrolled in College of Business and Engineering
• May be undergraduate or graduate student
• Must maintain C average (2.0) for undergraduate student or B (3.0) average for graduate student
• Will be awarded in fall semester each year in the form of credit

• Must be a graduate student at UTPB
• Must be an Accounting major

Impact Major Behavioral Health Scholarship
Students enrolling in graduate programs in school counseling, mental health counseling, clinical psychology, or social work programs are eligible. The program will cover tuition and mandatory fees, not including books or incidentals. This scholarship program is competitive and renewable for up to 3 years. Funding is awarded through various federal, state, and institutional funds to qualifying students.

The Initial Award will be based on:

• Undergraduate Cumulative Grade Point Average
• Holistic review of scholarship application essay by selection committee
• Must be a resident of one of the following counties: Midland, Ector, Reeves, Pecos, Loving, Ward, Winkler, Culberson, Andrews, Martin, Gaines, Howard, Glasscock, Reagan, Upton, Crane, Terrell, Crockett, Yoakum, Eddy, Lea, or Chaves. Residency will be confirmed during the Admissions process.

• Consideration of financial need

The program will cover tuition and mandatory fees, not including books or incidentals. This scholarship program is competitive and renewable for up to 3 years. Funding is awarded through various federal, state, and institutional funds to qualifying students.

• Commitment to providing services in the Permian Basin upon graduation
• Must be a resident of one of the following counties: Midland, Ector, Reeves, Pecos, Loving, Ward, Winkler, Culberson, Andrews, Martin, Gaines, Howard, Glasscock, Reagan, Upton, Crane, Terrell, Crockett, Yoakum, Eddy, Lea, or Chaves. Residency will be confirmed during the Admissions process.

• Recipient must maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.75

• As an undergraduate student (junior or senior level), must be majoring in history
• As a graduate student, must be majoring in history with preference given to recipient(s) with a focus on early American studies
• Preference given to recipient(s) with 3.5 GPA or greater, but may be given to recipient(s) with a GPA no less than 3.0
• Recipient(s) must continue to be a declared history major for duration of scholarship 5. recipient(s) shall be selected by a committee comprised of faculty members in the History Department

Project GROW Scholarship
Students enrolling in any UTPB graduate program are eligible to apply. The scholarship will cover tuition and fees, not including books or incidentals. This is a $10,000 annual (Fall-Spring) non-renewable scholarship federally funded by the Department of Education. 

The scholarship will be based on:

• Full-time Graduate Student
• Applicant must maintain 3.0 GPA and remain in good standing with the program
• Must be a resident of the Permian Basin
