Presidential Scholarship

The UT Permian Basin Presidential Scholarship is a prestigious, highly competitive award that covers full tuition and designated fees (up to 18 hours per semester) for up to four years or until the completion of an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first.

Eligibility Requirements

  • High School GPA: Typically in the top 5% of your senior class, based on a 4.0 scale.
  • Standardized Test Scores: Competitive SAT or ACT scores are required for consideration.

Application Process

  • Requirements: All applicants are required to attach the following items to their scholarship application form.
    • Letter of Recommendation - this should come from a non-relative, preferably a teacher, coach, supervisor, or school administrator
    • Essay - answer the prompt typed and in essay format
      • Prompt: Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.
    • SAT and/or ACT scores
  • Deadline: Applications are due by December 15 each year, and recipients will be notified by January 15.
  • Renewal: The scholarship is renewable annually, provided recipients maintain good academic standing by completing full-time coursework and meeting GPA (2.50+) requirements .
