H. Warren Gardner Scholarship

Named after UTPB History Professor H. Warren Gardner, who served in various UTPB leadership position including Director of the John Ben Sheppard Public Leadership Institute, the Warren Gardner Scholarship was established to perpetuate his legacy as a teacher, leader, and scholar of history and to honor his deep commitment to his profession and students.

Candidate will:

  • Be a History Major
  • Have a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average
  • Have demonstrated excellence in the classroom and leadership beyond it
  • Be enrolled full-time

Applications will consist of:

  • A one-page personal statement expressing the applicant’s interest in history and qualifications for the Warren Gardner Scholarship.
  • A cover page should accompany the statement that includes the applicant’s: Full name as it appears in UTPB records; contact information including a mailing address, the best phone number at which to reach them, and an email address; A declaration of the applicant’s year of academic standing (eg. Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior); the student’s major and minor; and an approximate grade point average (which the committee will confirm.)
