Family Weekend

September 26-27, 2025

UT Permian Basin’s Family Weekend is an excellent opportunity for you to visit your student and the Falcon community they are apart of. Experience firsthand some of your student’s favorite places on campus, meet their friends, and discover some of the resources and opportunities your student uses. You can also meet other families and campus staff, take part in fun campus activities, attend a football game, and find out more ways to partner with UTPB in your student’s education.

Registration is $30 for family members and $15 for students, and children 5 and under are free.

Schedule

Friday, September 26:

10:00am – 11:00am: Early check in

Students can pick up Family Weekend materials so that guests can head straight to the first program when they arrive. This is optional. We also offer check-in from 5:00pm – 6:30pm.

5:00pm – 6:30pm: Check-in & welcome

Welcome to UTPB! Stop by the Student Activity Center for family pictures, treats, and casual games with your student(s). After you check in, dinner is on your own. We’ll provide late-night entertainment.

Looking for a way to give back? We are accepting items for our Career Closet! If you would like to donate, bring your items with you to check-in. Find out more about our Career Closet and what items are accepted at UTPB Career Closet – Career Services | University of Texas Permian Basin.

6:00pm: WVB vs. St. Edwards

Support our Women’s Volleyball team as they take on St. Edwards in the UTPB Gym!

8:00pm: Campus Activities Board movie night

Join us to watch Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. We’ll provide the popcorn! Please note this movie is rated PG-13 and may not be suitable for younger siblings.

Saturday, September 27:

9:00am – 10:00am Check-in

Families that aren’t able to check in on Friday night can check in with us on Saturday morning.

9:00am – 12:00pm: Spirit Shopping @ the UTPB bookstore

Stop by the UTPB Bookstore’s new location to pick up the latest Falcon gear.

10:00am Brunch & Buttons

Sleep in and then join us for brunch and buttons. We’ll have all the supplies you need to make spirited buttons to wear to the game. Use our designs or get creative and make your own.

11:00am: Campus tour & renovation tour

First time on campus? Let us show you around with a traditional campus tour.
Taken a tour before? It’s likely some things have changed. The renovation tour is more focused on our newly renovated spaces.

1:00pm WVB vs. St. Mary's

Support our Women’s Volleyball Tam as they take on St. Mary’s in the UTPB Gym!

4:00pm: Falcon Walk & Tailgate

Support our football team as they walk into the stadium, then visit the Student Life tent for a sweet treat before the big game.

6:00pm Football vs. Midwestern State

Falcons Up, Falcons Up, Fight, Fight, Fight! Let’s cheer for our Falcons as they take on Midwestern State.
