UTPB Cares

UTPB is a community that cares

The UTPB CARE (Coordinated Advocacy, Retention, and Emergency Services) Team is a collaborative interdisciplinary committee of University officials that meets regularly determine the appropriate resources and response to students requiring assistance or emergency services. Through individualized consultation, the Office of the Dean of Students and the UTPB CARE team provides assistance, intervention, and referrals to support students navigating challenging or unexpected issues that impact their well-being and academic success. Emergency situations include but are not limited to:

  • Missing Student
  • Family Emergency
  • Fire or Natural Disaster
  • Student Death (current or former)
  • Medical or Mental Health Concern
  • Academic difficulties due to crisis or emergency situations
  • Interpersonal Violence (stalking, harassment, physical and/or sexual assault)

Once the UTPB CARE Team receives a referral, a staff member will reach out to the student within one business day. The staff member will connect the student to the appropriate support services and resources. The staff member will follow-up with the reporting party as needed.  For any questions, the UTPB CARE Team representatives can be reached during business hours by calling the Office of the Dean of Students at 432-552-2600. A crisis or emergency involving a UTPB student should be reported to the UTPB Police Department by calling 432-552-2911.
