Scholarship Soirée

Each year, The University of Texas Permian Basin honors outstanding alumni and young alumni for their accomplishments at the Scholarship Soirée. In addition to these two awards, the event also celebrates individuals and organizations that have significantly impacted the University and the community.

The Distinguished Alumni Award is given to an alumnus or alumna who has achieved extraordinary success and made significant contributions to their profession and community. The recipient demonstrates professional excellence, strong leadership, and a commitment to service and lifelong learning.

The Distinguished Young Alumni Award recognizes a young alumnus or alumna under the age of 40 who has demonstrated significant achievement and potential in their field or community. This award highlights their professional accomplishments, leadership qualities, community involvement, and innovative contributions.

The Lissa Wagner Excellence Award is presented to an individual who has shown outstanding philanthropic support and commitment to the institution or community. This individual serves as a leader and volunteer, advocating for positive change in the region.

Finally, the Community Partner Award honors an organization, business, or individual that has demonstrated exceptional partnership and support for the University or community. This award recognizes their commitment to collaboration, financial support, and a long-term dedication to helping UT Permian Basin achieve its mission of supporting students and the Permian Basin region.
